Turnpoints
Turnpoints (“waypoints” in GPS language) can be downloaded from the website or loaded into your GPS at registration.
Tasks (“routes”) will be set on launch each morning. If you are new to comps please practice with your GPS before you come to the meet so you understand routes, waypoints, and waypoint cylinders. If you have a Garmin GPS, make sure it is set not to auto-advance to the next waypoint.
Many comp pilots fly with 2 GPSes so that if there is a problem with one of them they still have a valid tracklog.
